Just a cup of Ash

Here I go recording a strip of my memory not just because I will forget it but because I feel like writing...

Getting reminded of the vacations as a kid… I can even now recall the days I used spend my holidays with my Thatha and Patti (mom’s dad and mum) along with my Cousins in Chrompet... We used to device our own games - building kovil, new card games, new rules for kannambuchi and the list is never ending...

Not only games - fighting for Thatha's sleeping chair, listening to his stories, sleeping on patti's lap, eating patti's food and fighting for "raja va" :-)

One of the stories Thatha always narrates - making a comparison of the three brothers in the story with my sis, bro and I...

The story goes like this

"Once upon a time their lived three brothers and they were lazy… A height of laziness is what you can associate them with… These three brothers had gone on a trip and on the way back home they had stayed in a traveler’s hut as it was growing dark...

They were in a deep sleep when the hut caught fire and one of the brothers realized it and said as all the three of them were still lying down

Brother 1: Kooraiyil neerupu pattri ullathu.. enna saivathu enru theriyavillai.. sombalambalam veevuthaaiya.. (Translated: Hey the hut has caught file… I am feeling lazy...)

Brother 2: Athathan solvane vayaithan novane.. (Translated: Why do you want to talk and cause pain to your mouth)

While the third brother did not open his mouth and continued to sleep...

The next day morning all the three of them were dead"

At the end he would say “Roni (my sis) you are brother 1, cheena (my bro) you are brother 2, bagu (me) you are the worst of the lot and you are brother 3 :-)”.

This is just one of the stories and he used to have ready stock of stories depending on the situation :). Thatha you could have become a great screenplay writer and that too for tamil cinema you would have been famous ;).

Patti - She is a dynamic lady. Imagine getting 5 daughters married, with Thatha working as clerk in Birla Paper mills.

Thatha on the other hand is very silent, calm and composed person. I have hardly seen him speaking… A silent man and he enjoys watching his kids and grand-kids talk and making fun :-). I can even now remember the hours of struggle he used to undergo teaching us all slogam and in the evenings he goes out for a walk and get backs with loads of sweets….

Thinking about Thatha - A great person, talks less and only lots of sense if at all he converses, loves to read newspaper and watch news :-), does sandhya regularly, he loves coffee, mangoes and saapota, and of course a very sweet person... I share lots of my childhood memories with him...

Patti and Thatha - They make a very cute couple and both of them are very different and yet very understanding… Patti was sweet 16 and Thatha was 22 when they got married…

At 6.30 PM on Friday 29th September, I was standing there thinking about all these looking at Thatha lying inside the freezer box… It looked as though he was just having a very long nap... Would miss him and his stories :-).

The next day afternoon, after the cremation Uncle came back with a cup of ash (Thatha)...

End of a 83 years peaceful life...

End of a 60 year old romantic story, but I would rather say one half of the story, while patti still continues with the rest - with his memories...

Melanocytic Naevus (Alias) Mole

Moleeeee.. Yeah they call it Matcham in tamil..

wikipedia - "A mole or melanocytic naevus is a small, dark spot on the skin. It can be either subdermal (composed of melanin), or a pigmented growth on the skin, formed mostly of melanocytes. The high concentration of melanin is responsible for their dark color. They are a member of the family of skin lesions known as naevi."

Phewwww.. Let’s not go into exact parental details of what Moles are... (I meant not scientific ;))

"Moles may either be present at birth or develop later in life."

Actually the wiki has missed out the baby Moles produced by Beauty Parlors in the definition :). Now a days we see lots of gals with Mole on the right or left corner of the upper lip. All most all heroines have it naturally or with the last scenario not defined by the wiki.

Hey why did they choose having the mark there.. I have a better idea… Think of the place where the villans have their big wart on the cheek just below their eyes… Just like Manoharan or all those mottais have in the old tamil movies :))… Imagine Simran and Jo with those artificial marks... ha ha.. They would look deadly… ;)

Moles play very important roles in movies… Remember the Vijay movie in which his dream gal has a mole just above her belle button and Ramba hanging on tree branches like Tarzan completely built :D in one of the songs with that Mole.. Excellent!! How imaginative the screen play writer’s are!!

It is not just this movie, but there are lots more.... Few of them have even twisted the flow of the movie… Imagine a mole that has even created climax...

A scene where an old couple is searching for their lost son on one the Thiruvizha (Mela) 22 years back…

Husband: Itho paaru Shantha, ithu naamba paiyan mathiri illa....
Wife (Shantha): Irrunga paakalam.. Thambi inga vaa pa...

The guy comes closer and now Shantha searches for the Mole on the guy's shoulders and there it was....

Wife (Shantha): Maagane!! (Tears rolling out from her eyes. Should be over glycerin :D)… Ennanga naamba payan thaanga...

And the family lives happily ever after....

Can't there be people on the earth having mole on the same place… How Stupid…

But of course, moles decorate a person beauty and are cute when it is there as a mark for few of them... The list can be never ending if I start describing about the moles I liked looking at and it is totally unnecessary for the readers of this blog :)...

On the Road

Traveling on the road in a two wheeler in Chennai is one of the most stressful exercises to the mind and the body. But of course we do not mind accelerating the throttle even for going to a shop that is near by (just 2 mins down the lane).

So what makes traveling on road even on a heavy traffic road something like walking on the cloud? hmm.. Let me help you guys think of an answer.. I just love driving and that too on a road that just looks like the sweet home of honey bee... It is amazing to sit on a vehicle driving on the middle of the road and that too under the hot sun.. Wow.. I am so happy even imaging it.. Phewwwwwww

Of course people, I need not help you think.. All of us are nature lovers.. Sweet birds on cars/vehicle chirping and smiling on your side, handsome and smart waves of air and light flashing around - giving you the right entertainment making you forget all stress :D..

Driving on nice calm road feels good giving the experience of riding at peace and you would be enjoying the real nature.. If not those chirping birds and handsome waves ;)..

Yet another thing that should be thought about - Virtual riding - On a pleasant morning or a chill cold night or when it is raining - Of course not alone ;)...

So lets move on with the topic.. What was it???.. Yeah.. On the Road..

What else do we see on the road when you ride on a 2 wheeler??

Have never miss to see those Huge hoarding on the road side especially on Mount Road, near Adyar Bridge whether movie or product ads.. Now a day’s people come up with amazing themes.. To name a few Amul, Adidas...

Cornea searching for Shops, Mals and new hang out....

One other thing that you would notice is the stickers, wordings and ads stuck on the back of the vehicle..

Tamil cinema at many times have screen play where the Hero's associate a name for his vehicle.. "Lakshmi" as Rajini names his taxi in "Padikaadavan" and " Bagya Lakshmi" as Prasanna names his cycle in "Azagiya Theeye".. Typical Human names.. A very weird thought, imagine people having words, stickers and ads on their back.. I meant the real back.. ha ha :))

A set of mind boggling words that a vehicle owner had thought off.. I guess he meant something like "Do not rush on turnings" or something like "Do not hit"..

He had written

"Envazhi thaani vazhi.. Don't kiss me".. Ha ha.. How the hell did that dude get such a brilliant idea ;)

"My way is a separate way... “Translated literally... People have wild imagination and that too with playing around with words..

Actually not as bad as shop name I had noticed.. It was a shop where they sell snacks and the owner had named it "SNAKE".. He should have been a great fan of Chinese food I guess.. :P

Cogitation on Blogging

hmm.... Here I go with my first blog...

Why would you blog your thoughts ??

Have been thinking of it for a long time now.. hmmm.. Quite interesting... So why would anyone reveal what he/she is thinking off (Just imagine the movie "What woman want" just like Mel Gibson.. ok ok.. Let not move away from the topic.. ) and why would you allow someone else to read your thoughts.. very wierd..

Just a thought on why would anyone blog...

1. Common forum to discuss anything under sun.. topic can be a serious one, funny, healthy or as crapy as it can ever be.. you just need not mind whom you are talking too and whether it makes sense or not.

2. Thoughts are so high and you want to share it with others.. Or may be it can as silly and you do not mind sharing..

3. hmmm.. you are lonely n just want to make sure that you do not forget how to speak or even write.. :)

4. Hey people what do you think.. even I can write if not on newspapers or magazines.. Now atleast on blogs.. ( ha ha).. Read what I write atleast over here.. Plzzzzzzzzzz

5. You want to influence people with my thoughts.. Is this the right place?? not sure ;) ..

The list has more to grow n I could just think of these for now..

But why would I write.. May it is all of the above or just none of the above...

Wow.. At last I blogged my own thoughts.. Way to go :)
